Electric pancake makers have a spiral heating element controlled by a thermostat. Gas models of pancake plates with star burners can be connected to natural gas or propane-butane. The design of the heating elements and burners ensures even heating of the entire surface. The pancake maker may also include a drawer at the bottom for storing finished pancakes or warming plates.
